The Battle for Earth

For our second look at a live action website we turn our attention to The Battle for Earth. It is relatively new, but off to impressive start. If there is anybody on equal footing with Next Global Crisis it is this website.

Storyline - Only two episodes have been released, both involving the same main characters so I am not sure at this point how deep they intend to go in having a storyline with continuity. For me this is the most important factor as to my repeated use of a website. The good news is that they do appear to really care about story and intend to revolve the narrative around five heroines and five villains fighting for control of the world.

Production Quality - So far so good. They are very much in the same league as Next Global Crisis.. The first two episodes have been well written, acted, and shot.

Fight Choreography - After two episodes they are far and away the undisputed king of this area. Nobody else is even close. In actuality the credit for this falls on the lead actress who plays the character Avalon. She is a ridiculously talented martial artist. She is so talented that I believe they may have a problem with the other heroines they cast measuring up to the standard she has set.

Acting Ability - Good acting all around from both the leads and supporting players.

The Girls - Being two episodes in there has only really been a focus on the lead that plays Avalon. She is a very beautiful young girl and as mentioned before more physically skilled than anyone I have ever seen in this type of movie.

Price - Some nice options here. Each movie has been over the thirty minute mark and they offer three different options. You can do a download for you mobile device which costs $19.95. Standard definition will cost $24.95 and high definition is $29.95.

Negatives - There is very litle communication and a complete lack of updates from the site itself. I have been lucky enough to exchange e-mails with the director a few times. He is a very friendly guy who seems to take customer feedback seriously. I only wish the site itself would enable something as simple as a twitter blog to keep fans in the production loop.

Final Verdict - You will not regret going to this website and spending your money. As far as live action is concerned I hope The Battle for Earth and Next Global Crisis spend the next few years trying to one up each other. They are the leaders in the industry and the only contenders for the number one spot.
